Introduction

 

What is CECOF ?

CECOF is a non-profit organisation, aiming to promote the European industrial furnace and heating equipment industry, to protect its business interests and to deal with all matters being of relevance to its members. Technical and marketing issues such as sponsoring trade fairs and standardisation activities have particular importance.

CECOF member countries are ahead in world exports

 

The CECOF association members of 9 European nations are holding an important share in the world exports of industrial furnaces, burners and firing equipment: More than half of the total world exports of thermoprocessing plants and machinery are originating from these 9 countries. Concretely, exports from CECOF countries are amounting to 54 % (which corresponds to approx. 3 bn € out of the 5.5 bn €) of total world exports in the field of industrial furnace and heating equipment. CECOF countries are mainly exporting within the European Union (40 %), while Asia is the second largest sales market for thermoprocessing equipment with a share of 30 %. The CECOF exports to the U.S. only amount to 5 %. In the year 2005, the 9 CECOF member states produced industrial furnaces, burners and firing equipment with a value of 5.3 bn €. The biggest producer is Germany with 36 % of the total production value, followed by Italy (26 %), France (14 %) and Great Britain (11 %).
